  • Launch of ING PUBLIC Takaful Ehsan Berhad

    On 5 April 2011, ING Management Holdings (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (ING) together with its strategic alliance partners, Public Bank Berhad (PBB) and Public Islamic Bank Berhad (PIBB), launched the new joint venture, ING PUBLIC Takaful Ehsan Berhad. ING, PBB and PIBB received the nod from Bank Negara Malaysia in September 2010 to set up a Family Takaful company.

    After months of preparatory work, the Joint Venture Agreement between ING, PBB and PIBB was inked on 8 March 2011 to give effect to the birth of ING PUBLIC Takaful Ehsan. ING, PBB and PIBB have an equity participation of 60%, 20% and 20% respectively in ING PUBLIC Takaful Ehsan.

    The Great Eastern Takaful is a new takaful operator in Malaysia. There are 3 other companies that have been granted the takaful license last year.
